Course at the adult education centre raises awareness of plastic waste

In a course on Thursday, 28 November 2019, from 7 to 9 p.m., the so-called "Plastic Atlas" will be presented at the adult education centre. It uses infographics to illustrate different aspects of the topic of plastic and plastic waste and looks at the increasing global production of plastic. However, it also presents the growing global movement that is contributing to the emergence of initiatives to avoid plastic all over the world. Admission is free.

Plastic has become an integral part of our everyday lives: clothing, cosmetics, toys, sports equipment, technical devices and packaging. Plastic now permeates almost all areas of life. On the one hand, plastic products make our everyday lives easier and in medicine they even save lives.

On the other hand, they jeopardise our health and clutter our planet with waste. Plastic waste - regardless of whether it ends up in landfills, in the ocean, in the landscape or in incineration plants - can now be detected in the air, drinking water, soil and food.

This event is a cooperation between BUND Landesverband Sachsen e. V. and the Chemnitz Adult Education Centre.
