Counselling for relatives of addicts at the public health department
Relatives of addicts can receive counselling at the public health department and, if interested, can also talk to other relatives.
Addiction is not an individual fate. Addicts are part of families, circles of friends, schools, companies, clubs, etc. This means that relatives, friends and colleagues are affected in many ways without being addicted themselves.
What relatives do with the best of intentions is often not accepted as help by addicts. Failures and disappointments therefore lead to feelings of helplessness and resignation among relatives.
If you want to help someone close to you to overcome addictive behaviour, you often need help and support yourself. This requires both understanding for the situation of those affected and sufficient knowledge about addiction.
Appointments can be made by calling 488-5374, -5375 or -5873.
