Coordinated construction project Weideweg starts
Construction starts on 19 August - full closure required from 26 August
On Monday 19 August, work will begin on the coordinated Weideweg construction project between Kalkstraße and Kräuterweg, initially with preparatory work. The Weideweg is then expected to be fully closed in the first construction phase from Monday 26 August. The work will be carried out in several construction phases, each of which will then be fully closed. A diversion will be signposted.
Firstly, a rainwater drain, a drinking water pipe and empty conduits for power cables and street lighting will be laid. Following this, the carriageway and pavement will be rebuilt over a length of 450 metres and new street lighting will be installed.
The City of Chemnitz's Transport and Civil Engineering Department, the waste disposal company of the City of Chemnitz (ESC) and the utility company eins are involved in the coordinated Weideweg project.
The construction work will last until the end of June 2025. The total costs amount to around 1.25 million euros. The company ATS Chemnitz GmbH has been commissioned to carry out the work.
