Contributors wanted: Stories about spinning machine construction
"Awakening sleeping giants" - that is the motto of the URBACT network Second Chance (2nd Chance). The participating cities focus on the revitalisation of large inner-city brownfield sites and vacant buildings. Chemnitz is also involved in the network.
Everything deserves a second chance at some point. Even if it is "just" a building. Like the spinning mill in Chemnitz. What was there once? What could become of it? Do you know anyone who once worked there? Do you have a story to tell in or around the spinning mill? Or are you curious enough to find out all about it?
Then get in touch with project coordinator Thomas Mehlhorn at the city planning office, because as part of the EU Second Chance project in the URBACT programme, a small exhibition is to be set up in the factory complex on Altchemnitzer Straße next year. We are still looking for helpers.
