Contributors wanted for Intercultural Weeks 2019
Opening event on 21 September
From 21 September to 6 October, the Intercultural Weeks will once again take place in Chemnitz. During the two weeks, citizens, clubs, associations, institutions and organisations are invited to find out more about the topics of migration, integration and asylum and to take advantage of offers for tolerant and peaceful coexistence. Under the motto "Living together, keeping together", the Intercultural Weeks will be opened on 21 September 2019 at 12 noon on the Neumarkt in Chemnitz. The patron is Lord Mayor Barbara Ludwig.
Guests can look forward to a festival of cultures with a varied programme and lots of information on the topic of immigration and integration in eight different themed areas. The themes are as follows: Artarium, Informarium, Culinarium, Legendarium, Sportatrium, Szenarium, Theatrum, Vokalbularium.
Theatre performances, film screenings, dance courses and concerts, country evenings, sporting events, readings and discussions with authors, training courses, lectures, workshops and information events on a wide range of topics, as well as exchanges between religions, are intended to arouse interest in people and encounters. The diversity of the city of Chemnitz should also be reflected in the variety of events on offer.
