Contract signed for broadband expansion

On Tuesday, 29 January at 1 pm, Mayor Barbara Ludwig and Roland Warner, Managing Director of eins energie in sachsen GmbH & Co. KG, will sign the contract for the broadband expansion of the city of Chemnitz.
Representatives of the media are invited to the event.
The City of Chemnitz is the installer of the fibre-optic network in the subsidised expansion areas. eins will take over operation after completion. The fibre optic network will be built over the next two years. Parts of the fibre optic network will be put into operation earlier, depending on the completion of eins.
The construction and operation of the fibre optic network includes the expansion areas that are considered underserved (i.e. with a bandwidth of less than 30 Mbit/s).
The districts of Einsiedel, Euba, Klaffenbach and Wittgensdorf will be almost completely expanded. Adelsberg, Borna-Heinersdorf, Furth, Glösa-Draisdorf, Kleinolbersdorf-Altenhain and Rottluff will be partially expanded.
