Continuation of the federal "Living Democracy" programme

Information event: 21 January 2016, 4 p.m., Bürgerhaus am Wall

The City of Chemnitz has received the grant notification for the continuation of the federal "Living Democracy" programme. Thanks to the support from the federal "Living Democracy" programme, grants of up to 6,000 euros can be applied for again this year for a LAP project. A youth fund and an action fund financed by federal funds are also planned. Ines Vorsatz, LAP coordinator at the City of Chemnitz: "More than 45 projects were successfully realised in 2015. These included six projects that were carried out by young people themselves. Of course, we are hoping for the same number of projects in 2016."

Subject to approval of the 2016 budget, municipal budget funds totalling 80,000 euros have again been earmarked for the promotion of micro-projects. 20,000 is available for project funding through the federal "Demokratie Leben" programme. The next deadline for submitting applications for funding from the Local Action Plan is 11 March 2016.

On 21 January 2016, an information event on the funding guidelines of the City of Chemnitz and the federal "Living Democracy" programme will take place at the coordination office. The event is aimed at interested parties who wish to realise projects within the framework of the LAP. The event will provide information on preparing an application, project management, target group-orientated work and proof of use.
