Contemporary witnesses of the 5th March meet up
Get to know each other and exchange ideas on 2 December, 3 p.m., Hotel Chemnitzer Hof
On Saturday, 2 December at 3 p.m., a small group of contemporary witnesses who lived in the city centre and on the Sonnenberg and witnessed 5 March 1945 will meet at the Hotel Chemnitzer Hof to share their experiences.
Representatives of the media are also invited to attend. Please register by Thursday, 30 November, 12 noon at pressestelle(at)stadt-chemnitz.de.
The meeting is being organised on the initiative of Günter Burkhardt. He now lives in New York, but Chemnitz is his hometown, where he spent his childhood and youth from 1931 to 1957. He is now back in Chemnitz for a short time and would like to meet contemporary witnesses from back then.
The contemporary witnesses will be accompanied by Cornelia Siegel, Head of the Department of European and International Relations, Protocol of the City of Chemnitz.
