Construction work to repair the surface on Blankenauer Straße will be completed on Thursday (22 November)
On Thursday, 22 November 2012, the construction work by the city's civil engineering department to renew the surface of Blankenauer Straße in the section from Lohrstraße to Emilienstraße will be completed. The construction work involved replacing the worn asphalt surface with a four-centimetre-thick layer of stone mastic asphalt over a length of around 380 metres.
The work carried out also included the necessary repair of the road drainage facilities and adaptation work in the adjacent areas. As part of this construction project, a bus stop was converted into a bus cap and two additional pedestrian centre islands were installed.
The road construction work began on 1 October 2012. Chemnitzer Verkehrsbau GmbH was commissioned to carry out the construction work. The city invested around 225,000 euros in this construction project by the civil engineering department.
