Construction work on Wiesenstraße completed
Coordinated expansion between Annenstraße and Clara-Zetkin-Straße completed
The work for the coordinated expansion of Wiesenstraße in the section between Annenstraße and Clara-Zetkin-Straße has been completed. The section was opened to traffic.
Since November 2021, the carriageway, parking spaces and pavements have been completely renewed, the existing combined sewers have been renewed, the power lines have been extended and the local district heating pipe has been replaced.
The City of Chemnitz's traffic and civil engineering department, the waste disposal company of the City of Chemnitz and eins energie in sachsen GmbH & Co KG were involved in the coordinated work. The total costs amount to around 1 million euros, with Chemnitzer Verkehrsbau GmbH being the contractor. The road construction is being funded by the federal and state "Urban Redevelopment" programme.
An additional winter interruption was necessary due to extensive construction work by a telecommunications service provider in the section, additional pipe laying and unplanned and deviating conditions in the existing road. This delayed the expansion by a total of one year.
