Today, Monday, the Weideweg in the Rottluff district will be fully reopened to traffic. The coordinated construction project, in which the City of Chemnitz's traffic and civil engineering department, the waste disposal company of the City of Chemnitz and eins energie in sachsen GmbH & Co. KG were involved, will thus be completed on schedule.
As part of the project, a rainwater drain, a drinking water pipe and empty conduits for power cables and street lighting were laid. This was followed by the complete new construction of the carriageway and pavement over a length of around 450 metres, including a modern street lighting system.
The construction site included the Weideweg between Kalkstraße and Kräuterweg, and the road had been fully closed in sections since the end of August 2024.
The total costs amounted to around 1.25 million euros. The contractor was the company ATS Chemnitz GmbH.
