Construction work on the playground continues
The new facility in Marie-Luise-Pleißner-Park in the Bernsdorf district should be completed by the end of the year.
Construction work in Marie-Luise-Pleißner-Park will resume in the week commencing 11 October. According to the Parks Department, the play and leisure facility near Wartburgstraße is scheduled to be completed by the end of the year - depending on the weather.
Construction work for the new building had already begun in mid-March 2021. They have been delayed due to the extended delivery times for building materials such as paving stones, drainage pipes and other bulk materials caused by the coronavirus pandemic. In addition, part of the play area is a customised design that required additional coordination.
The play and climbing combination will now be installed first, followed by further work such as the surfacing and drainage.
On the paved, semi-circular open space in the northern area of the park, a versatile play area with a total size of around 830 square metres is being created, the highlight of which is a space net with an integrated trampoline. This space net, up to 3.5 metres high and named "Eurythmus", invites children from the age of eight to play bouncy games.
A small climbing wall, a stair-slide combination, another trampoline on the ground and a sandpit are also integrated into the overall concept.
The costs totalled around 300,000 euros. The planning office LOR Landschaftsarchitekten Otto+Richter from Dresden was commissioned with the planning services. The construction work will be carried out by the construction company Steinbach & Richter GbR Landschaftsgestaltung.
