Construction work on the main station forecourt
On Monday (26 November), the city's civil engineering department will begin construction work in the area in front of the main entrance to Chemnitz Central Station to redesign the station forecourt. First of all, the pedestrian crossing already marked here will be demarked. A total of 20 bollards will then be installed on site.
This measure is intended to ensure even greater safety for travellers who frequent the entrance area of the main station.
The two disabled parking spaces in the entrance area will remain in place near the existing ramp and will simply be re-marked.
The Chemnitz-based company Löschner & Meisel has been commissioned to install the bollards and the company Efemka from Niederwiesa to carry out the marking and demarking work. The work will be completed by Friday (30 November).
The cost of the construction work is approximately 10,000 euros.
