Construction work in the sports forum: False ceiling in the games hall renewed, civil engineering work in the road area
Construction work to replace the suspended ceiling is currently being carried out in the games hall at the Chemnitz Sports Forum. As part of the work, which is due to be completed by 21 July and was already started in mid-May, the existing ceiling first had to be demolished and then the new substructure constructed. Finally, the new boards will now be installed, adjustment work will be carried out and the painting work on the gable and longitudinal walls will be completed.
The Plech & Seidel company was commissioned by the city to carry out the construction work. The total cost of the project is approximately € 225,000.
Start of school and training operations: From Monday, 22 July, the sports hall at Sportforum Chemnitz will once again be available for school and training operations, including for athletes from Leichtathletik-Club Erdgas Chemnitz e. V. (LAC), Schwimm-Club Chemnitz von 1892 e. V. and the Chemnitz/Dresden Olympic Training Centre.
In the course of the street lighting in the Sportforum, which was already renewed last year, the necessary civil engineering work is now being carried out in the area of the sports office building and the physiotherapy centre. The asphalt work is scheduled to be carried out from 15 July to 28 July.
The contractor is the company MTW. The costs for renewing the road area with a base and surface course amount to approx. 59,000 €.
Please note: In order not to disrupt school operations, the construction work was deliberately scheduled to take place during the 2013 summer holidays. Visitors to the physiotherapy centre are asked for their understanding and attention for the temporary restrictions in the area of access to the physiotherapy centre during the two-week construction period.
