Construction starts on the pump track on Kalkstraße

Volunteers are invited: on 25 March, from 8 a.m., area on Kalkstraße

On Saturday, 25 March, from 8 a.m., the Parks Department invites future users and anyone who wants to support the construction of the pump track on the Kalkstraße site to join in. The site is located 250 metres east of the junction with Oberfrohnaer Straße on the future premium cycle path (geodata: 50.824581551849136, 12.841171521844565).

Interested parties are asked to register by 23 March - by email to: spielplatz@stadt-chemnitz.de. If the construction work has to be cancelled at short notice due to the weather, those who have registered can be informed. Minors should also bring parental permission for this work assignment. The form for this can also be requested from the above e-mail address.

Construction will begin on this day and the track will be built together. The prerequisites for participation are weather and construction-proof clothing as well as a large portion of motivation. Further events are planned afterwards to continue building and realise the pump track as quickly as possible.

Representatives of the City of Chemnitz met with the future users several times beforehand to discuss the design of the facility. The result will be a so-called pump track, a self-contained circuit with steep bends, waves and jumps that can be ridden on a bike.
