Construction project for the reconstruction of the Chemnitz Valley cycle path
Work begins on Thursday (20 November) with the construction of the site road
Thursday (20 November) sees the start of a construction project by the city's civil engineering department to rebuild the section of the Chemnitz Valley cycle path between the Fischweg bridge and Bornaer Straße. This section was the most heavily damaged during the floods last summer. Work will begin on Thursday with the construction of a construction road in order to be able to carry out the work for the new embankment construction on the Chemnitz from the river side.
The city is investing a total of 195,000 euros in the construction project. The company BAS Scheibenberg was commissioned with the construction work.
It is planned to complete the work by the end of June 2015, depending on the weather.
Traffic information: Cyclists are requested to follow the signposted diversion via Blankenburgstraße and Dammweg during the construction work.
