Construction of the depot decided
Over-allocation of funds for Chemnitz Zoo
At its meeting today, the City Council decided to provide additional funds for the farmyard at Chemnitz Zoo.
As part of the masterplan for Chemnitz Zoo, it was decided to remodel the farmyard at Kaufmannstraße 25. Storage areas, parking spaces, garages, a feed kitchen together with feed storage (dry) and freezing and refrigeration cells, feed animal breeding, open spaces for materials, bulk goods and waste are to be created here.
The present draft planning shows a considerable difference between the available budget (1.05 million euros) and the cost calculation (2.36 million euros). In order to cover the deficit and ensure the realisation of the project, further funds must be made available. The shortfall is to be financed from the funds provided for the masterplan.
The planned start of construction for the Wirtschaftshof is April 2020, with construction due to end in June 2021.
