Connection work: New access road to shopping centre with redesign of the road space

Road users please note the necessary traffic restrictions

In the area of Stollberger Straße between Südring and Scheffelstraße, the new supermarket will be connected to Stollberger Straße for traffic between 25 March and 15 June 2013. At the same time, the road space here will be widened with a left-turn lane. In the course of the construction work, new bus stop areas will also be created and the pavements and green areas will be redesigned.

Information from the traffic authority: As already announced yesterday with the construction site information from the City of Chemnitz, traffic travelling towards the city must be diverted past the construction site in order to carry out the construction work. Traffic travelling towards the countryside will be diverted via Usti nad Labem/Südring. Mobile traffic lights will be installed at Usti nad Labem/Carl-Hamel-Straße and Usti nad Labem/Südring. Note: For the period from 9 to 12 May 2013, this necessary traffic restriction will be lifted to ensure a smooth flow of visitors to the German Music Festival events.

Pedestrians can use the existing footpath during the first construction phase (until 8 May); a diversion for pedestrians is planned for the second construction phase (from 13 May). Cyclists should use the signposted diversion.

The work is being carried out by the Chemnitz-based construction company Gunter Hüttner & Co. GmbH Bauunternehmung on behalf of a private company.
