Congratulations on your 105th birthday!
Elisabeth Zenker celebrates her milestone birthday on 17 June 2017
Elisabeth Zenker, née Franke, looks back on 105 eventful years of life on 17 June 2017. A representative of the Mayor's Office will bring the City of Chemnitz's congratulations to the jubilarian at 9.30 a.m. at the Bethanien Nursing Home, Planitzwiese 27 in 09130 Chemnitz.
Elisabeth Zenker was born on 17 June 1912 in Kändler (Limbach-Oberfrohna). After completing the 8th grade, she began to work and held various jobs throughout her life - from seamstress and worker in engine production to technical draughtswoman.
She met her future husband Helmut Zenker in 1934, five years later they married and started a family. The couple travelled extensively together in their later years and celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary before Helmut Zenker passed away in 2003. Their only daughter Christine has also passed away. Today, Elisabeth Zenker's two grandchildren are her greatest support. They maintain close contact with her, visit her regularly and bring her home on special occasions.
The cheerful senior citizen celebrated her 100th birthday five years ago together with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren at Kaffee Friedrich in Augustusburg. Her 105th birthday will also be celebrated - but will be planned at short notice in consideration of her advanced age.
