Congratulations on your 100th birthday!
Ilse Schilling celebrates her 100th birthday on 15 February 2013
Ilse Schilling will turn 100 on 15 February 2013. A representative of the Mayor's Office will be bringing the congratulations of the City of Chemnitz to the "Altes Rathaus" senior citizens' centre at Gaußstraße 5 in 09117 Chemnitz on her birthday at 3.30 pm.
Ilse Schilling is expecting her family, including her daughter Christa, grandson Matthias and great-grandson Felix, to celebrate this special anniversary together.
Despite her dementia, Ilse Schilling enjoys chatting with her visitors, depending on the mood of the day. Born in Chemnitz, she was healthy and active all her life until she fell ill 7 years ago. Until the age of 94, she managed her own allotment garden in the Westend garden colony and met regularly with the women of the allotment association's handicraft group.
The "Altes Rathaus" retirement centre is now the centre of her life. And so the well-wishers come here today, where the coffee table is lovingly laid for the occasion.
