Congratulations on your 100th birthday
Elisabeth Rau celebrates her milestone birthday on 2 April 2018
Elisabeth Rau reached the age of 100 on 2 April 2018. A representative of the Mayor's Office will bring the City of Chemnitz's congratulations to her on her birthday at Chemnitztalstraße 130, 09114 Chemnitz.
Elisabeth Rau, who was born in Rabenstein, lived alone in her flat until the end of 2017. After being hospitalised, she moved in with her daughter Sigrid, who now looks after her mother. Her granddaughter also lends a helping hand so that she can live at home.
Elisabeth Rau is very grateful for this. She lived alone for many years, her husband Rudi died in 1982. They were married for 43 years and raised three daughters.
Trained as a knitter, she worked for many years in a company in Rabenstein and was a keen gymnast in her spare time.
Today, several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren belong to the family.
