Congratulations on your 100th birthday!
Alexandra Kusmenko celebrates her "round" birthday on 20 May 2014
Alexandra Kusmenko will turn 100 on 20 May 2014 in Chemnitz.
A representative of the Mayor's Office will be wishing her a happy birthday at 10 a.m. at the family's home at Bruno-Granz-Straße 48 in 09122 Chemnitz.
Ukrainian-born Alexandra Kusmenko has now lived in Germany for twenty years. She came here in 1994 with her husband, who died a year ago, and her two sons and started a new chapter in her life. However, the German language has remained foreign to her, even though she now understands many things.
In her life, she has suffered many hardships and strokes of fate. She had to endure unimaginable suffering during the war years, when she lost six of her children aged between one and three.
Today, Alexandra Kusmenko lives with her son Anatoli and daughter-in-law in a shared flat. This means that she can rely on the help she now needs. The family supports the senior citizen wherever they can and provides care for Alexandra Kusmenko herself despite working.
Planning for the birthday party has been in full swing for some time now. The whole family is expected to attend: her son Alexander, who lives with his family in Baden-Württemberg, will also be there, as will her four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
