Hildegard Pilz celebrates her "milestone" birthday on 15 April 2014
Hildegard Pilz will turn 100 on 15 April 2014. A representative of the Mayor's Office will be wishing her a happy birthday at 10.30 a.m. at the Fischzuchtgrund retirement home in Altenhainer Allee 7, 09123 Chemnitz.
Versatile, open-minded and always optimistic - this is how Hildegard Pilz is known at the Fischzuchtgrund retirement home in Einsiedeln. She has lived here since 2008 and is happy about the wide range of leisure activities on offer, which she hardly ever misses. She is mobile with her walking frame and still takes part in sports courses at the home thanks to her good health.
Of course, there will be a big celebration to mark her 100th birthday: The first well-wishers are expected in the cafeteria of the retirement home from 10 a.m. and the celebrations continue throughout the day until the evening. Friends, acquaintances, relatives and, of course, the church community, of which she was an active member for many years, are expected to attend. The native hermit is firmly rooted in the village. She has spent her entire life here and worked as a shop assistant for many years. In spite of her own heavy blows of fate, the death of her husband in the Second World War and the much too early death of her daughter, she never lost her courage to face life.
