Conference "Stat(d)t Kultur: Chemnitz 2025": Conclusion of the conference followed by a press conference

15 November, 12 noon, in the small hall of the Stadthalle

This week, the "Stat(d)t Kultur: Chemnitz 2025" conference is taking place in Chemnitz. Interested parties, including representatives from the German candidate cities, will discuss the idea of the European Capital of Culture and questions of cultural strategy with European experts from Austria, Germany, Croatia, Bulgaria and Greece. Mayor Michael Stötzer and Dr Oliver Scheytt will summarise the conference in conclusion.

Media representatives are cordially invited to the closing event and the subsequent press conference on Wednesday, 15 November at 12 noon.

Dr Oliver Scheytt gained extensive experience in local politics at the German Association of Cities from 1986 to 1993, from 1990 as a representative for the cities in the new federal states. From 1993 to 2009, he was Head of Cultural Affairs for the City of Essen and was also in charge of the Green and Gruga, Education and Youth departments for many years. From 2006 to 2012, he was Managing Director of RUHR.2010 GmbH. In 2011, he founded KULTUREXPERTEN GmbH, with which he provides HR consulting for cultural organisations and strategic consulting for European Capitals of Culture. Scheytt is President of the Kulturpolitische Gesellschaft e.V. and makes his expertise available to numerous organisations in the arts and culture.
