Concert weekend at Klaffenbach moated castle
Visitors to the Matthias Reim (Saturday, 23 August) and Max Herre (Sunday, 24 August) concerts should note the further changes in traffic routing due to construction work in the Neukirchen municipal area
Two concerts are taking place at Wasserschloß Klaffenbach this weekend: The Matthias Reim concert on Saturday, 23 August and the Max Herre & Guests concert on Sunday, 24 August. The traffic authority of the city of Chemnitz asks concert-goers travelling to the venue by car to pay attention to the further changes in traffic routing and the designated parking facilities due to construction work in the Neukirchen municipal area, where the drinking water pipeline is being renewed. Due to the complete closure of the Neukirchen municipal area, access to the Klaffenbach moated castle is still restricted.
For the Matthias Reim concert on Saturday, 23 Augustis expected to attract 4,000 visitors, according to the organiser. The following car parks are available (see map):
For visitors travelling by car from Neukirchen:
- Car park at Klaffenbach moated castle
- BayWa car park on Untere Bergstraße
Access to the car park at Wasserschloß Klaffenbach is possible in Neukirchen via Stollberger Straße or Chemnitzer Straße - Hauptstraße - Bahnhofstraße.
For visitors travelling by car from Chemnitz:
- Area on Würschnitztalstraße (near the railway embankment)
- Birch centre
- Company Baufeld
- Green area on the Eisenweg.
Access to the car parks is via Würschnitztalstraße, Chemnitzer Straße or Klaffenbacher Hauptstraße.
The Klaffenbach moated castle is within easy walking distance of these car parks (approx. 650 m).
In the municipality of Neukirchen, the residential roads Am Böttcherstück and Am Lämmelstück between Schloßschänkenweg and Untere Bergstraße will be closed to through traffic (residents free).
For the concert by Max Herre & guests on Sunday, 24 Augustin the inner courtyard of the moated castle is expected to attract around 2,200 visitors, according to the organiser.
Parking is available in the car park at Klaffenbach moated castle, the BayWa site on Untere Bergstraße and an area on Würschnitztalstraße near the railway embankment (see map).
Access to the car park at Wasserschloß Kla ffenbach is possible in Neukirchen via Stollberger Straße or Chemnitzer Straße - Hauptstraße - Bahnhofstraße.
Concert visitors arriving by car from the city of Chemnitz from the direction of Klaffenbacher Straße or Würschnitztalstraße, Chemnitzer Straße and Klaffenbacher Hauptstraße should use the car park on Würschnitztalstraße. From here, Klaffenbach moated castle is within easy walking distance (approx. 650 metres).
Concert visitors please note that the Klaffenbach moated castle cannot be reached via Würschnitztalstraße.
