On Sunday, 17 January 2016 at 5 pm, the trio sostenuto will present itself with the concert "Composing in Saxony - the next generation #2" in the large hall of the music school, Gerichtsstraße 1, 09112 Chemnitz.

Trio sostenuto - Christian Wettin (clarinet), Martin Jantzen (cello) and Richard Röbel (piano) - will present works by Alberto Arroyo, Faidra Chafta-Douka, Pierre Eghdami, Barblina Meierhans, Richard Röbel, Tobias Eduard Schick and Hang Su.

Richard Röbel, born in 1988 in what is now Chemnitz, studied piano and composition at the Chemnitz Municipal Music School for many years. During this time, he has already won several prizes at the national "Jugend musiziert" competition and the national composition competition.

The three musicians were brought together in 2008 by their enthusiasm for the rich colourful sound and wide-ranging repertoire. Since 2013, the ensemble has also increasingly focussed on performing new music. The search for a work-specific ensemble sound in contemporary and classical repertoire creates new spaces of perception for the listener, in which the focus is not on the performer but on the music.

The concert is organised by the Sächsischer Musikbund e. V.. Tickets are available at the box office for 6 euros (concessions 5 euros). Admission is free for music students.
