Completion of road construction on Hofer Straße in Mittelbach
Next Monday, 30 October 2017, Hofer Straße between Mittelbach and the Neefestraße/Zwickauer Straße/Hofer Straße roundabout will be reopened to traffic.
This marks the completion of the final construction phase for the new construction of Hofer Straße in Mittelbach. Since July 2017, the City of Chemnitz's civil engineering department has been working together with the State Office for Road Construction and Transport (Plauen branch) to renew the almost 400-metre-long section of road.
A footpath and cycle path with lighting was created on the landward side and connected to the Neefestraße roundabout. A central island was installed to ensure safe crossing of the carriageway at the entrance to Mittelbach. The existing footpath on the side facing the town was also renewed.
The construction work was completed on schedule. The construction costs totalled around 340,000 euros.
Chemnitzer Verkehrsbau GmbH was commissioned with the realisation of the construction measures.
