Competent support for dementia
Dementia counselling for sufferers and relatives from 6 April
From April, the DementiaNetwork_C(hemnitz) will be offering weekly expert, neutral and free dementia counselling sessions. The aim is to provide support from a single source for those affected and their relatives in order to ensure good care. The focus here is also on relieving the burden on carers.
Counselling is provided in small multi-professional teams. This ensures a highly individualised practical approach. Specialists from the fields of senior citizens' work, care, care insurance and health services can be consulted on Thursdays from 2 to 6 p.m. at the City of Chemnitz Social Welfare Office, Annaberger Str. 93, 09120 Chemnitz, ground floor, room 13. You are also welcome to contact us by telephone on 0371 488 5555.
In Germany, over one million people suffer from memory loss that goes beyond the age-related decline in mental abilities. Because people are getting older and older, the incidence of dementia is on the rise. Alzheimer's can be a form of dementia. The spectrum of this disease is very diverse. The support options for people suffering from dementia and their relatives should be just as wide-ranging.
