Committee representatives elected by the city council yesterday

Chemnitz City Council held elections for various committees at its meeting yesterday:

Proposed for Administrative Committee

With the reorganisation of the Federal Employment Agency, the regional structure of the employment agencies will be adapted to the boundaries of the districts and independent cities. In future, the district of the Chemnitz Employment Agency will therefore only include the area of the city of Chemnitz. This has an impact on the composition of the Administrative Committee of the Chemnitz Employment Agency. The city will have to appoint three members and two deputies for the Chemnitz Employment Agency.

At its meeting yesterday, the City Council elected and proposed the following persons for appointment to the Administrative Committee of the Chemnitz Employment Agency:

Members: Andreas Ehrlich and Wenke Fischer (representatives of the administration), Solveig Kempe (CDU parliamentary group), Yvonne Weber (DIE LINKE parliamentary group), Detlef Müller (SPD parliamentary group), Jan Schulze (DIE LINKE parliamentary group).

Deputies: Holger Pethke and Bettina Bezold (representatives of the administration), Almut Patt (CDU parliamentary group), Karl-Friedrich Zais (DIE Linke parliamentary group).

Elected to the supervisory board of the clinic

Yesterday, the City Council elected the members of the Supervisory Board of Klinikum Chemnitz gGmbH and appointed them to the Supervisory Board of the hospital:

Mayor Berthold Brehm, Dr Heidemarie Becherer (SPD parliamentary group), Ines Saborowski-Richter (CDU parliamentary group), Susanne Schaper (DIE LINKE parliamentary group), Prof. Dr Andreas Schmalfuß (FDP parliamentary group), Petra Zais (Alliance 90/The Greens).

Election to the Association Assembly

The city will leave the Chemnitz/Stollberg rescue association on 31 December 2012, as the Chemnitz-Erzgebirge rescue association will exist from 2013. As a result, a new election of the association councillors for the association meeting of the new rescue association was necessary. The city council elected the following members yesterday: Susanne Schaper (DIE LINKE parliamentary group), Detlef Müller (SPD parliamentary group), Dr Ullrich Müller (CDU parliamentary group) and their deputies: Christine Pastor (DIE LINKE parliamentary group), Jacqueline Drechsler (SPD parliamentary group), Ines Saborowski-Richter (CDU parliamentary group).

New justice of the peace

There are six arbitration districts in Chemnitz, each with a justice of the peace. Yesterday, the city council elected Ramona Bohn as Justice of the Peace for arbitration district IV. This includes Kappel, Schönau, Stelzendorf, Reichenbrand, Kaßberg, Altenberg, Rottluff and Rabenstein. Minor offences can be referred to an arbitration board by the public prosecutor, thus facilitating out-of-court redress.
