Colourful lampshades light up the street "Am Rathaus"
New illumination project for Chemnitz city centre
Visitors to Chemnitz city centre will soon discover a new illumination. The street "Am Rathaus" will be illuminated with 35 colourful lampshades in various sizes over a section of approx. 30 metres. These are expected to create a colourful entrance to the market square in the city centre from Friday.
In addition, the street will then be particularly suitable as a photo motif in Chemnitz city centre in the evening hours.
The project is being supported and realised by two companies: Höhenseiltechnik Seidler-Pelta, which is responsible for creating the infrastructure, and MK Illumination Handels GmbH, which is responsible for illuminating public spaces throughout Europe.
The measure is being financed by the city centre fund. The total costs amount to around 40,000 euros.
The lampshade project is a further building block in the development of Chemnitz city centre.
The illumination and lighting of city centre areas is to be continued in other streets in the future.
