Closure of the "Falketurm" playground equipment at Falkeplatz
Following an inspection of the "Falketurm" play equipment combination, the connecting bridge had to be closed immediately on 13 June 2016. The tower itself is still accessible.
During the dismantling of individual steps of the bridge, severe rot was found on load-bearing wooden elements, meaning that safety is no longer guaranteed when playing on the facility. The facility, which was built in 2005, has already exceeded its useful life, making it uneconomical to repair. The playground equipment will be demolished in the near future.
The playground in the park at Falkeplatz still has a total of ten pieces of play equipment. The bird's nest swing is currently being repaired.
