Climate change and health: What do you need to know? What can you do?
Adult education centre: Lecture and discussion on 27 September, 7 to 8.30 pm, in TIETZ, course room 4.07
On Wednesday, 27 September, from 7 to 8.30 pm, interested parties are invited to a lecture by Dr Sebastian Wendt at the adult education centre in the TIETZ, course room 4.07. Climate change affects human health in many ways. Respiratory problems, allergies and cardiovascular diseases occur more frequently in hot weather and prolonged drought, among other things. In his lecture, the environmental physician will explain what we need to know in order to react in good time.
The event is free of charge. Registration is possible by telephone on 0371 488 4343 or online at www.vhs-chemnitz.de/kurs/W2338010.
The lecture will focus on the natural and environmental factors that influence human health. What are climate-related diseases and what preventive measures are available? What does current medical research say about the consequences of climate change? And last but not least: What can each and every individual do in everyday life to protect themselves and prevent illness?
The speaker, Dr Sebastian Wendt, is a specialist in microbiology, virology and infection epidemiology as well as a specialist in toxicology and environmental medicine. He works as a senior physician at the University Hospital Halle (Saale) and has been researching the connection between climate change and health for many years. Dr Sebastian Wendt would like to talk to the audience after his presentation
