"Clean" clothes - justice in the wardrobe?

Lecture at the adult education centre on 20 March, 6.45 pm, at the TIETZ

On Tuesday, 20 March, 6.45 to 8.15 pm, there will be a lecture on production standards in the textile industry in course room 4.07 at the TIETZ. Admission is free of charge.

Over 90 per cent of the textiles we can buy in Germany are imported - mostly from East Asia, Latin America and Eastern Europe. Standards relating to human rights, wages and worker safety are often disregarded during production there. This happens even though it violates international obligations and existing self-imposed requirements of the trading companies and labels. For more than 20 years, there have been campaigns worldwide to expose and criticise these conditions and inform consumers. On this evening, one of these campaigns will be presented and we will discuss what we can do as consumers.
