Class-based discrimination in Germany?
Sociologist visits the adult education centre for a lecture and discussion
On Wednesday, 11 November 2015, sociologist Andreas Kemper will be speaking at the adult education centre in the TIETZ in course room 4.07 from 19:00 onwards about the disadvantages that people in Germany face due to their social background. Admission is free.
Andreas Kemper's research focusses on class-based discrimination, known as classism. He argues that access to university or other educational institutions depends on the social status of the parents and that children from immigrant families do not have the same opportunities at school, at work or when looking for accommodation.
The event is being organised in cooperation with the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation.
