Civil engineering works on Markersdorfer Straße completed

Coordinated project by the city's civil engineering department, ESC and eins energie was realised ahead of schedule

Following the opening of Markersdorfer Straße in the section from Dittersdorfer Straße to Max-Müller-Straße back in August, the remaining work to connect a property access road was carried out in the past few days and has now been completed. This means that the coordinated complex measures carried out by the civil engineering office, waste disposal company and utility company eins energie in Sachsen GmbH & Co. KG have been completed ahead of schedule, ahead of the deadline originally planned for the end of September.

Markersdorfer Straße was fundamentally upgraded over a length of 430 metres in the section from Dittersdorfer Straße to Max-Müller-Straße. In addition to the carriageway extension, pavements were also added to ensure significantly greater road safety, especially on the school route. The bus stops located in the construction area were made barrier-free. In addition, the drinking water pipeline was renewed and a new wastewater system was installed.

725,000 was invested in the project, which began in October 2013.

Dietmar Mothes GmbH from Chemnitz was commissioned with the construction work.
