Civil engineering office renews the pipework of the Klaffenbach stream

Work begins on Tuesday - road users please note full closure of Klaffenbacher Hauptstraße 105 to 111

On Tuesday, 23 September, the civil engineering office will begin a construction project on Klaffenbacher Hauptstraße to renew the piping of the Klaffenbacher Bach in the area from house 107 to 111. The current piping, which is located in the middle of Klaffenbacher Hauptstraße, consists of an old stone vault whose stability and drainage cross-section are considerably restricted. The civil engineering department has therefore planned essential work to ensure the load-bearing capacity of the stream pipework and the water drainage required in the event of flooding, as well as road safety.

Construction work will begin on Tuesday, 23 September; the plan is to complete the work by the beginning of December 2014.

Around 125,000 euros will be invested in the construction project.

The company Krause & Co, Hoch-, Tief- und Anlagenbau GmbH, Neukirchen-Adorf, has been commissioned to realise the construction project.

Note for road users: As the stream pipework to be replaced is located in the centre of Klaffenbacher Hauptstraße, the construction project can only be carried out with a full closure of Klaffenbacher Hauptstraße to public traffic. However, Klaffenbacher Hauptstraße will remain open to public transport and school traffic during the construction period, as well as to pedestrians, who will be guided along the covered footpath during the construction period. The necessary diversion during the construction work will be via Annaberger Straße, Klaffenbacher Straße and Würschnitztalstraße.
