Civil Engineering Office: "Bluetooth" pilot trial extended until the end of May

The City of Chemnitz's Bluetooth pilot test, which was originally planned to run until mid-May (13 May), will continue until the end of the month, according to information from the Civil Engineering Department. Once the pilot test has been completed, the traffic data collected during the test period will be statistically analysed in June. Based on this, the practical suitability of the tested Bluetooth technology will be assessed.
The test results are expected to be available at the beginning of July and will then be publicised in a press release.

The Bluetooth sensors were installed at the start of the pilot test by the Leipzig branch of Swarco Systems in Chemnitz at these four junctions:
Straße der Nationen/Georgstraße, Straße der Nationen/Christian-Wehner-Straße,
Müllerstraße/Blankenauer Straße,
Thomas-Mann-Platz,
Dresdner Straße/Frankenberger Straße.

Detailed information on the pilot project launched on 15 April 2013 was provided in press release no. 157 dated 08.04.2013
