City Treasurer Brehm visits the Finnish twin city Tampere

From 3 to 6 December 2014, Chemnitz City Treasurer Berthold Brehm will be visiting the Finnish twin city of Tampere. He will be accompanied by Achim Dresler, Deputy Director of the Saxon Industrial Museum Chemnitz. The reason for the pre-Christmas visit is the handover of a Trabant car as a gift from the Chemnitz Industrial Museum to the Tampere Industrial Museum. The two museums have enjoyed a good working relationship for many years.

Incidentally, the "Trabi" is already on site: the car was driven to Tampere on loan by Chemnitz students on behalf of the Industrial Museum and is now to be given its permanent home here at the request of the Tampere Industrial Museum.

At the invitation of the Lord Mayor of Tampere, Anna-Kaisa Ikonen, City Treasurer Brehm will also use his visit to discuss the further development of twinning relations between Chemnitz and Tampere. In addition, Berthold Brehm will visit the city to find out about the latest urban development projects in the Finnish twin city.

The programme for the guests from Chemnitz also includes participation in the opening of the Christmas market in Tampere.

The town twinning between Chemnitz and Tampere, which was established in 1961, is the oldest town twinning in Chemnitz. Information on the internet: http://www.chemnitz.de/chemnitz/de/die-stadt-chemnitz/partnerstaedte/index.html
