City selection: These Chemnitz footballers challenge Chemnitzer FC

One-off test match on the day of the open stadium gates

This has never happened before: A Chemnitz selection will challenge the professional footballers from Chemnitzer FC on 18 June in the first ever match in the new stadium and in the first test match of the season over 2 x 30 minutes. Each of the 28 teams in the Chemnitz district association was able to nominate one player, and the unique selection will be coached by legendary coach Christoph Franke. The first training session will take place on 16 June at 6 pm. The line-up also includes a female footballer and two juniors.

Christoph Franke: "Of course I was happy to take on the task! This game is all about having fun. That's why everyone will get a few minutes of action. It's Chemnitzer FC's home stadium, but the game shows that it really is the stadium for everyone in Chemnitz." He doesn't want to give away any details of the training session in advance, but just this much: there will of course be some playing involved.

This is the line-up of the city team - the clubs explain why these players were chosen for the one-off match.

Goal

Florian Gey (Eubaer SV 92 e.V.) has been with the club for six months. He previously played for CPSV. "He is a very reliable, good goalkeeper. He has very good reflexes. He's also very strong on the line and when running out. He's simply a very complete goalkeeper."

Dino Puff (SV Eiche Reichenbrand e.V.) has been with the club for a year and also coaches the C-junior team. This year, his team won the Saxony State Cup. Their opponents were RB Leipzig in front of a home crowd. "He played at national level for a long time. Today he is more of a coach than a player. Nonetheless, he is still a quick goalkeeper who plays his part."

Thomas Trost (FV Blau-Weiß Röhrsdorf 19 e.V.) is a long-standing member and goalkeeper of the 1st team and currently also youth manager and coach of the C-youth team. "He simply fulfils several functions in the club and puts his heart and soul into it."

Jan Bußhardt (FC Wacker 90 Wittgensdorf e.V.) has been a goalkeeper at the club for many years. He has attended the youth teams and often plays two games a weekend in the 1st and 2nd men's teams. He also does voluntary work in the clubhouse and helps with everything that comes up in the club.

Defence

Torsten Aßmus (Eisenbahner-Sportverein "Lokomotive" Chemnitz e.V.) has been active in the club since his youth. "He is a role model for commitment and motivation. He is a very fair sportsman and is not above helping out with other teams when his time allows. It should serve as a sign that commitment and willingness are rewarded in our small club and encourage others to follow the same path in our club."

Martin Görner (Sportfreunde Chemnitz-Süd e.V.) has been active since the club started playing in April 2008. During these years, he has always shown full commitment to his team on the pitch and has always presented himself as an exemplary and fair sportsman. "Even when he was often working far away for long periods in recent years, often even abroad, he took every opportunity to be available for the games at the weekend."

Michael Münnich (FSV "Grün-Weiß" Klaffenbach e.V.) was born in Görlitz, came to Chemnitz to study and now lives and works here. He has been playing in Klaffenbach for two years. "Mischa is a model of consistency in training and match participation and someone who always gives 100 per cent," is how the club explains its choice.

Kevin Schuffenhauer (SV Viktoria 03 Einsiedel e.V.) is a long-standing member of the club and the 1st team. "He is the best player in the squad this season."

David Sehm (SV IKA Chemnitz e.V.) was nominated by his club not only because he is a good footballer, but also because he is particularly committed to the club: "He renovated the shower rooms on his own initiative. Free of charge. He also works in the clubhouse after work and takes on organisational tasks in the club."

Midfield

Sandy Lein (Post Sportverein e. V.) is the only female footballer in the line-up and an experienced leader of the women's team at Post-Sportverein Chemnitz. She is also coach of the F -Juniors team, youth leader of the Post-Sportverein and organises Bambini tournaments, women's tournaments and scouts talent, as well as working for the club on a voluntary basis. "We would like to honour the work she has done," said the club.

Marvin Bastian (SG Adelsberg e.V.) is a young men's player. He is one of those who played in the SG's youth programme when the club was just starting out and has therefore been associated with the club since his childhood. Now he has returned as a men's player from co-operation partner USG Chemnitz. "He combines strong tackling with an overview and cleverness in opening up the game."

Lucas Beck (Chemnitzer Sportverein Siegmar 48 e. V.) has been with the club since 2001. In the 2015/16 season, he played his first season in the men's team in the Kreisoberliga and has become a permanent fixture thanks to his playing and technical skills. "We would like to honour him with this release and also encourage him to continue with the ambition and commitment he has shown."

Jonas Blüthgen (VfL Chemnitz e.V.) was chosen by the club because he has been a member for many years, is involved as a coach in the junior sector and is a regular player in our Kreisoberliga team. He is also an avid fan of Chemnitzer FC.

Robin Börner (BSC Rapid Chemnitz e.V.) has very good basic technique. He is a strong shot-stopper, tricky and a dangerous header. He is a very complete player, even if he sometimes lacks tactical discipline.

Rocco Dittrich (VfB Fortuna Chemnitz e.V.) has been active in football since his earliest childhood. From 1987 to 1998, he went through the football school in the youth teams of FCK and CFC. Via TSV 1860 Flöha, Rocco joined VfB Fortuna Chemnitz in 2001 and found his new sporting home here. Thanks to his many years of commitment, reliability and fair play, Rocco Dittrich rightly enjoys great respect and recognition in his club and beyond.

Marco Dürrschmidt (SG Neukirchen/Erzg. e.V.) has been with SG Neukirchen since 2012. He previously played successfully for the TSV Germania youth team and then for DJK Darching in Bavaria. After returning home, he quickly established himself as a player in the midfield of the second men's team and is still a reliable mainstay in match operations as team captain. He is also a sponsor of the club, and numerous events, especially in the youth sector, would not be possible without his help. "Marco has built up a good reputation within the club thanks to his calm, friendly and objective manner."

Randy Einenkel (Chemnitzer Polizeisportverein e. V.) is very committed to young talent and is the deputy head of the football section. "Randy is one of the best players in the first men's team. A very reliable, helpful and always approachable footballer. He simply deserves it."

Marcel Erler (USG Chemnitz e.V.) is very committed to football as an active player in the first men's team, coach of the D-youth team and member of the department management and is also an active fan of the CFC.

Fred Möckel (TSV IFA Chemnitz e.V.) has only been with the club for a good two years, but has proved to be a very reliable and committed player. "His positive development and the strong character and team leadership of the B-juniors speak for a worthy representative of the TSV football department."

Marco Richter (SV Adorf Erzgebirge e.V.) has been a successful member for over eight years and plays in the 1st men's football team in the Chemnitz district league. "He is our team captain and shows a great deal of commitment during training and in point and cup matches. He is characterised by his speed, overview and willingness to fight," says his club.

Attack

Andreas Ahner (FC Arche Chemnitz e.V.) Our team captain is a role model for the team in terms of both sport and character. He is our top scorer this season with 13 goals. He is a very strong left-footer. He could easily play two classes higher.

Kenny Heinz (VTB Chemnitz e.V.) is a long-standing member of the club and has always been characterised by his commitment. He will fulfil the requirements of this special test match.

Dan Herbig (TSV Germania Chemnitz 08) has been a club member since 1996, went through the youth ranks and is currently a regular player in the men's team (Landesklasse West), currently coaches the B youth team, is TSV's youth manager and works in the "VfL Bochum Football Camp at TSV Germania Chemnitz" organisation team. "He is also involved in projects to maintain the value of the clubhouse, for example. Dan is one of the best players in his team."

Martin Irmscher (SSV Textima Chemnitz e.V.) The player has been the top scorer in the leagues in which SSV plays for years. However, due to his quality, he can fulfil any position.

Norbert Klipphahn (SV Blau-Weiß Chemnitz 02 e.V.) has been a member since the club was founded and was already active in the predecessor club Union. He is co-coach of the 1st men's team, which currently has no real coach but deals with its issues internally via the team council. He is our team captain, head of the football department and responsible for presentation and logistics.

Thomas Müller (FSV Grüna-Mittelbach e.V.) is the best player of the season according to the club. For a long time he fought for the goal scorer's crown. In the end, unfortunately, he only came 2nd. He is the player with the most goals in the team. "We didn't have to think long about who to send. He has the biggest impact on our offence."

Patrick Ströhle (SG Handwerk Rabenstein e.V.) "It's a reward for Patrick, as he hasn't played very often. Unfortunately, he was usually only on the bench. But since we told him that we were nominating him for this game, he has played three times in the starting eleven."

Stefan Winter (SG Kleinolbersdorf-Altenhain e.V.) "is not only our most ardent CFC fan. He's also one of our longest-serving players, someone you can always rely on and someone who always goes that crucial extra metre for his teammates."
