City pool remains closed - bathers please use the "Am Südring" and Bernsdorf indoor swimming pools

As already announced, the Chemnitz municipal swimming pool will have to remain closed for the next few days. The reason for this is extensive water damage in the basement of the facility, where all the technical equipment for the operation of the city pool is located, as a result of the flooding. According to information from the sports office, the water is currently up to 1.50 metres high in parts of the basement of the municipal swimming pool. It will only be possible to provide information on the further timetable for the necessary clean-up and repair work and the operation of the municipal swimming pool once all the water has been pumped out of the basement and the damage can then be analysed.

In the meantime, the sports office is offering the "Am Südring" indoor swimming pool and the Bernsdorf indoor swimming pool as alternative facilities.

School swimming is still being offered at the "Am Südring" indoor swimming pool until 5 July. For the current week from 3 to 9 June, please note the following SH opening hours for your visit:
Monday from 2pm to 10pm, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 6pm to 10pm, Sunday from 9am to 4pm. The SH will be closed to the public on Saturday (8 June) as a swimming competition is being held here.
Information on the other public opening times of the "Am Südring" swimming pool will be provided later in the week. Please note: In addition to the public usage times, the "Am Südring" indoor swimming pool is also available to other users such as clubs and for the above-mentioned school swimming sessions during non-public usage times.

The Bernsdorf indoor swimming pool is open regularly this week: Monday from 7 am to 3 pm, Thursday from 7 am to 11 am for senior citizens and the disabled and from 11 am to 2 pm, Friday from 10 am to 3 pm.
Please note that from Monday, 10 June, the Bernsdorf indoor swimming pool will only be available for public swimming on Mondays from 7 am to 2 pm and will be used on the other days of the week by other users such as the Technical University, police headquarters and fire brigade as well as for special training times for various swimming clubs in Chemnitz.

Regular school and club swimming is still taking place in the Gablenz indoor swimming pool this week, but as already announced, there will be no public swimming. Swimmers are asked to understand that the Gablenz indoor swimming pool will not be available for public swimming until 25 August, as planned and prepared for the long term - including the tenders and contracts that have been awarded.
