City pays annual amount instead of rent to operate a daycare centre in Rabenstein
At its meeting today, Chemnitz City Council decided to make an annual payment of around 162,000 euros over a period of 20 years to DRK Gemeinnützige Krankenhaus GmbH Sachsen for the operation of a day care centre instead of paying rent.
DRK Gemeinnützige Krankenhaus GmbH Sachsen is building a new daycare centre with a capacity of 100 places on the grounds of the DRK hospital in Chemnitz-Rabenstein. The facility is to be used with 30 places for children of employees of the DRK hospital and 70 freely available places for children from Chemnitz.
Planning permission was granted in October 2017. DRK Gemeinnützige Krankenhaus GmbH Sachsen has already made extensive preparations and financial advance payments for the planned construction of the daycare centre. The costs of the construction project currently total 2.6 million euros. The agreed annual payment by the City of Chemnitz will be used to refinance the project from the 2019/2020 biennial budget instead of rent.
The facility was included in the City of Chemnitz's current daycare needs plan from September 2018.
