City park pond was drained
The city park pond is leased for management. The pond was largely fished out by the leaseholder and then drained, as repair and maintenance work is also required on the outlet structure (pond monk).
This repair work will take approximately two weeks.
In consultation with the Lower Nature Conservation Authority, the pond sludge will freeze out over the winter and the pond will then be dammed again from 1 March 2021.
