City of Chemnitz with information and advice at the authorities festival
On Sunday, 14 September from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. (admission from 10 a.m.), the annual summer festival of the Chemnitz authorities will take place at Klaffenbach moated castle in the castle courtyard. The City of Chemnitz will also be taking part in the twelfth edition of the Chemnitz authorities' on-site programme for citizens with information and advice from six specialist departments (including the fire brigade). The municipal waste disposal and city cleaning company (ASR) will also be present again with an advice stand.
Among the long-standing participants in the annual public authorities festival are thecity administration's Citizens' Registration Office and Public Order Office : staff from the Registration Office and Service Centre D 115 will be on hand at the information stands to answer questions about, for example, the registration process. At the information stands, employees from the Registration Office and Service Centre D 115 will provide information on issues such as registration law and applying for documents, as well as on the services offered by the nationwide standardised authority number 115 at Chemnitz City Council. The Public Order Officewill once again berepresented at the 12th Public Authorities Festival with its highly publicised traffic monitoring area, presenting a radar vehicle with permanently installed measuring technology as well as an old and a current portable measuring device.
For the first time, the Social Welfare Office will be taking part in the festival and will be presenting the information and counselling services offered by the Senior Citizens and Disability Assistance Department, Local Care Authority. The main topics here are, for example, living in old age and counselling for the care and nursing of the sick and those in need of assistance.
At the information stand of the health department, citizens can find out about all the services offered by the health department. Topics include counselling services for disabled people, the chronically ill and their relatives, travel medicine and vaccination options.
The Food Inspection and Veterinary Office will be focussing on the still much-discussed topic of bees, including beekeeping, swarms of bees and bee honey. An employee of the specialised office is a competent contact person for citizens who are beekeepers or would like to become one. She will provide information about the extensive requirements and conditions that need to be observed when keeping bees. Various honeys can also be tasted at the information stand.
The municipal waste disposal and city cleaning company (ASR) will also be present at the 12th local authority festival: At the information stand, interested visitors can find out interesting facts about waste separation and waste avoidance, all questions relating to waste disposal, street cleaning, residents' obligations and winter services and, last but not least, training opportunities at ASR. Adults and children can test their knowledge with various quizzes and quiz games, and for the youngest visitors, the EMSI mascot will playfully convey the topic of waste separation.
The fire brigade will certainly be a special attraction for many visitors at the 12th festival of public authorities: The local youth fire brigade from the Klaffenbach district of Chemnitz will once again be on hand with around ten firefighters in the area around the moated castle. The young people will be on site with a fire engine and a spray wall on which they will demonstrate how to extinguish fires. Firefighters can also get hands-on, so to speak, with a type B ambulance (KTW) from the 25th Chemnitz Medical Task Force (disaster control unit).
