City of Chemnitz with information and advice at the 13th authorities festival

On Sunday, 13 September 2015, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., the annual summer festival of the Chemnitz authorities will take place at Klaffenbach moated castle in the castle courtyard. The City of Chemnitz will also be taking part in the 13th edition of the Chemnitz authorities' on-site programme for citizens with information and advice from various specialist departments (including the fire brigade). The municipal waste disposal and city cleaning company (ASR) will also be present again with an advice stand.
Long-standing participants in the annual public authorities festival include the city administration's Citizens' Office and Public Order Office: Staff from the Registration Office and Service Centre D 115 departments will be on hand at the information stands to provide information on issues such as registration law, the new Federal Registration Act, how to apply for documents and the range of services offered by the nationwide standardised authority number 115 at Chemnitz City Council. The Public Order Office will once againbe represented at the 13th Public Authorities Festival with its highly publicised traffic monitoring department, presenting a radar vehicle with permanently installed measuring technology and a current portable measuring device.
For the second time, the Social Welfare Office will be taking part in the festival and will be presenting the information and counselling services offered by the Senior Citizens' and Disability Assistance Department, Local Care Authority. The main topics here are, for example, living in old age and counselling for the care and nursing of the sick and those in need of assistance.
The Food Inspection and Veterinary Office will be focussing on bees, including beekeeping, swarms of bees and bee honey. An employee of the specialised office is a competent contact person for citizens who are beekeepers or would like to become one. She will provide information on the extensive requirements and conditions that need to be observed when keeping bees. Various honeys can also be tasted at the information stand.
"What to do with old sofas, broken hoovers, disused energy-saving light bulbs etc.?"
Interested parties can get advice on these and other waste disposal questions at the stand of the City of Chemnitz's waste disposal and city cleaning company (ASR). Visitors will receive information on the extensive range of services offered by the ASR as well as on the waste disposal systems in the city of Chemnitz and on composting in their own gardens. They can also find out about street cleaning, winter services, mobile wastewater disposal, training and jobs at the ASR.
There will be various hands-on activities for young and old, such as a prize puzzle about waste disposal and craft and colouring activities for children. Mascot Emsi is also looking forward to seeing lots of visitors at the ASR stand.
The fire brigade will certainly be a special attraction for many visitors at the 13th festival of public authorities: The volunteer fire brigade from the Klaffenbach district of Chemnitz and its youth fire brigade will once again be on hand with a fire engine and a spray wall, where they will be demonstrating how to extinguish fires. They will also be bringing along an ambulance from the emergency services for a hands-on experience.
