The City of Chemnitz is now offering its online office service for citizens, which currently covers around 400 matters from all areas of life, on Amt24, the online platform of the Free State of Saxony. This replaces the previous service portal of the City of Chemnitz(www.dienstleistungsportal-chemnitz.de).
Amt24 is not limited to Chemnitz services, but bundles municipal services as well as services from state and/or federal authorities throughout Saxony in a joint service portal. This will provide all Chemnitz citizens with a central point of contact for digital administrative services.
For a short transitional period, the services will be offered on both platforms - the previous service portal and Amt24 - in parallel. This will allow citizens to temporarily continue using their existing browser bookmarks and gradually switch to the links to the services on the city's website at www.chemnitz.de.
The online services can be accessed at www.chemnitz.de/dienstleistungen and directly at Amt24.sachsen.de.
The changeover to Amt24 was supported by the State Chancellery of the Free State of Saxony, which is promoting the digitalisation of official services under the umbrella of this platform.
