City of Chemnitz leaves social media platform X
Activities are shifted to Bluesky, Threads and Mastodon
The City of Chemnitz is leaving the social media platform X for current communication. The reasons for this lie in the difficult developments on this platform with regard to freedom of expression.
The account will remain for documentary reasons and will only be used in emergency situations such as bomb blasts or flooding.
From now on, the press office of the City of Chemnitz will use the platforms Mastodon, Bluesky and Threads for its social media activities. The existing channels on Instagram, Facebook and YouTube will remain unaffected by this decision.
