City library opens on 17 May for borrowing and returning media
From Monday 17 May, the Chemnitz City Library will be open for borrowing and returning media with restrictions for the time being. The new Saxon Corona Protection Ordinance makes it possible to reopen public libraries for borrowing media regardless of incidence.
It is not possible to use the library rooms as a place to stay, work and learn or for leisure activities. No late fees will be charged until 6 June 2021. It is not necessary to book an appointment.
Visitors can use a QR code to check in with the Corona-Warn-App at the start of their visit to the library. This will help to identify contacts more quickly in the event of a positive Covid-19 case.
The following hygiene measures are being implemented in the facilities and we ask that they be strictly adhered to
- Wearing a medical face mask is mandatory.
- When entering the library, every customer is asked to wash or sanitise their hands.
- The library card must be carried. Registration is possible again.
- One disinfected basket per customer or family will be handed out.
- The distance markings on the floors must be observed.
- Visits to the library must be kept to a minimum (approx. 20 minutes per user).
- Only a limited number of people are permitted in the facilities.
