City library expands online learning programme

Digital courses on media skills and digital training for pupils

Chemnitz City Library has expanded its Brockhaus online offering. In addition to the online encyclopaedia and student training, users now have access to digital reference works for all age groups, online courses on online behaviour and a knowledge portal on the climate.

With the two online courses "Fit on the Internet for Adults" and "Safe on the Web for Young People", Chemnitz City Library now offers a programme for learning important skills for life in the digital society. The courses are dedicated to media skills. Among other things, young people and adults learn how to deal with fake news and protect their personal data.

Pupil training for the subjects German, English, French, Latin and maths helps pupils to understand lesson content and close gaps in their knowledge. They can use it to prepare for upcoming tests and class tests.

The "Climate of the World" knowledge portal provides users of Chemnitz City Library with comprehensive information about the climate in an easy-to-understand format. This enables them to acquire the knowledge they need to follow and actively participate in the climate debate.

A library card is required to use this and all other online services offered by the city library. Access is then possible from anywhere.
