"Houellebecq has an heiress" (Marianne). Marion Messina looks at the life and failure of a young woman in Paris - her furious debut is a stab at the heart of our crisis-ridden present. When her first love fails, nineteen-year-old Aurélie moves from Grenoble to Paris. There she finally wants to live life to the full and leave her parents' provincial working-class biographies behind her by studying law. But in Paris she barely manages to get a job as a receptionist, the housing market turns out to be an anarchic zone and love is a farce between friendly arrangements and pornography. But then Aurélie sets everything back to square one. Full of anger, clear-sightedness and merciless irony, Marion Messina looks at the life of a young woman and into the heart of a new lost generation.
