Dominique Horwitz reads from his crime novel "Death in Weimar"
In the "Villa Gründgens", the Weimar retirement home for theatre artists, the rehearsals of the "Schiller Circle" are abruptly interrupted: One after another of the elderly theatre group dies under mysterious circumstances. Roman Kaminski, coachman and city guide in the city of Goethe, feels compelled to get to the bottom of the mysterious series of deaths. But the ambitious inspector Westphal seems to have Kaminski in his grip, and to make matters worse, he is also caught between two women.
Dominique Horwitz, born in Paris in 1957, is an actor, director and singer. In addition to numerous film roles ("Stalingrad", "Der große Bellheim"), he has performed at the Thalia Theatre in Hamburg, the Berliner Ensemble, the Deutsches Theater in Berlin and the Schauspielhaus Zurich, among others. He met his wife while filming in Weimar, and since then Weimar and Thuringia have not only been his home, but also his backdrop. In 2012, he staged "Der Freischütz" at the opera in Erfurt, and was most recently seen as Schiller's "Wallenstein" at the National Theatre in Weimar.

Reading: Burkhard Müller, "Forgeries, Transformations"
The beautiful appearance of pictures, houses and people
Art forgers and impostors shake our firmly held convictions about what is true and what is false. For the transitions between deception and transformation, reality and appearance are often fluid. When Wolfgang Beltracchi is able to paint classical modernist paintings more genuinely than the original artists, when Gert Postel, a trained postman, works for years unchallenged as a senior doctor in a mental hospital, when a republic rebuilds a royal palace even though it has no idea how to use it - what does that say about our self-image?
Burkhard Müller investigates sensational forgeries and transformations of the recent past, which suddenly make what was once considered an iron certainty appear very dubious. Pictures, houses and people can always be something completely different from what we believe.
Burkhard Müller, born in 1959, is a lecturer at the TU Chemnitz. He writes regularly for the "Süddeutsche Zeitung" and "Die Zeit". In 2008, he was awarded the Alfred Kerr Prize for Literary Criticism

Living Library - Living books in the Chemnitz City Library
The "Living Library" works like a traditional library: readers borrow a medium, spend a certain amount of time with it and then return it. However, the media in the "Living Library" are not books, but people. On the occasion of the Intercultural Week, personalities with a migration background will be on hand as "living books" to talk about their lives and experiences in Chemnitz.
With Ana Giannina Albornoz (Chile), Mai Alkurdi (Syria), Ferenc Csák (Hungary), Nancy Gibson (Canada), Manh Hung Nguyen (Vietnam), Etelka Kobuß (Hungary), Ilja Kogan (Russia), Pedro Martin Montero Pérez (Peru), Narangarav Nyamsuren (Mongolia), Dr Teresa Pinheiro (Portugal), Ida Silalahi (Indonesia), among others.
